On the 12th March 2019, twelve students from the Morley Academy from year’s 7, 8 and 9 were invited to the annual Rotary club competition at the John Charles Centre.
Students were split into three teams, where they engaged with Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM) by collectively solving a previously unseen technology task. They were in competition against many schools across the West Yorkshire area.
Each team was required to design, develop, build and then test their solution in front of the judges. The tournament offered a fun way to develop team building, communication and time management skills.
The Morley Academy students all participated and worked extremely well as a team. They represented the Academy with pride and exemplary behaviour.
Overall, the day was a great success as all students were awarded certificates for their participation. One of our beginner teams won their category overall and can be seen photographed with the mayor!
Congratulations to all the students who participated in this event!!
