All TGAT Academies work with a central catering partner, Taylor Shaw.
Taylor Shaw are a leading education catering specialist, and currently operate in over 800 schools, colleges and universities across the UK. Their teams of experts support our fantastic catering teams in delivering a brand new range of food and drink and breakfast, break and lunchtime.
Taylor Shaw’s key aim is to provide food that will fuel students and contribute to their wellbeing in our fantastic learning environment.
Taylor Shaw ensure that all students have access to a healthy and affordable choice to eat each day, with options to meet the needs of everyone, including those with notified special dietary requirements. All of our menus are fully compliant with the government’s School Food Plan.
If you provide your child with food from home, you may wish to consider a school meal as an alternative, as our menus are highly popular with students and offer good value for money. Taylor Shaw provide freshly prepared food, a nutritionally balanced diet and innovative menus.
The daily allowance for students entitled to free school meals is £2.40 a day.
Our academy supports the Government’s recommendations on eating healthily and achieving a balanced diet. We believe it ensures the wellbeing of every student in all aspects of school life.
We provide healthy and nutritious food throughout our academy dining, whether that is for breakfast, break or lunch; our meals and snacks will give students all the brain power they need to succeed.
Students may bring food and drink from home into the academy. This is on the proviso that these food items meet with our healthy eating policy. Items that do not will be confiscated. We value parents’ and carers’ support in this.
Students use ParentPay – our cashless payment system – to buy their food and drink, a system that can easily be ‘topped up’ by parents and carers at home.
The Morley Academy has designated areas for consuming food and drink, including our brand new Thompson Dining Hall and our recently refurbished Wharton Dining Hall.
